A Guide to Spain
Costa Blanca Costa Almeria Costa Calida Costa del Sol
Spain is located in southern Europe in the Iberian Peninsula together with Portugal and is separated from Africa by
the 15 km. wide Strait of Gibraltar.
Widely known for Flamenco music and dance, bull-fights, fantastic beaches and over 300 days of sunshine a year,
Spain has been one of the cultural centres of Europe for thousands of years. It has beautiful cities and towns,
offering old monuments, ancient traditions and a wealth of historical architecture. Each region of Spain is
different, in the north lies the green and rainy region of the country, along the coastline to the south and east a
very dry zone with high average temperatures all year round and the central region varying from hot, dry summers to
rainy, snowy winters.
Miles of sandy beaches and inviting blue waters make the stunningly beautiful costal regions the most popular
destinations for the many tourists visiting Spain each year. Many resorts offer fantastic amenities including water
sports, golf courses, tennis facilities, restaurants and a lively nightlife.
With its healthy cuisine, local fiestas and traditions and the hospitality of its people, Spain is a fascinating
country which has benefited from extensive international investment and continuous growth in popularity over the
last few decades.
