Florida Tennessee
Florida is the fourth largest state in the United States of America and has always had universal appeal whether
you are on a package holiday or looking for adventure. Known as the “Sunshine State” it is one of the world’s most
popular travel destinations attracting over 50 million visitors each year. This subtropical area with year round
sunshine is famous for its coastline, The Everglades and the many colourful coral reefs found along the shores.
Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach and Fort Lauderdale are some of the most beautiful beaches in the area and the
Florida Keys, a string of islands just south of the mainland, are a top destination for divers and snorkelers.
Florida and is best known for its theme parks including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and
Busch Gardens as well as many other major parks and centres and a wide range of activities are on offer including
golf, hot air ballooning, fishing and hiking.
With its southern warmth and hospitality, excellent shopping malls, night life and restaurants Florida really
has it all.
The state of Tennessee is located in the southeast region of the USA and is unique in that it shares its border
with eight other states. More than half of Tennessee is forested and many parts of this state have been set aside
as game reserves, wilderness areas and state and national parks including the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park.
Tennessee has always been famous for its different music styles, the town of Nashville is a major music
performance and recording centre and world renowned for country music. Memphis, near the Mississippi border, is the
home of the blues and the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll and the location of Gracelands, the home of Elvis
Presley.
The stunning desert town of Las Vegas has seen much expansion over the years and attracts over 39 million
visitors each year. The town offers numerous attractions for all age groups including theme parks, roller coasters,
museums and national parks. Las Vegas bursts with life and offers luxurious casino hotels, fine dining and live
nightly entertainment. This city has also become known as the wedding capital of the world with a choice of
marrying in a themed chapel or even in a plane flying over the Grand Canyon.

Getting There: Flights to the eastern US are plentiful, and can also be very cheap during low season. Flying
time is about eight hours. The major Florida airports are Miami for the Keys, Orlando for central Florida and Tampa
for western Florida. For Tennessee, major US airlines fly to Chattanooga and Knoxville.
